So I bought this Chev Cheyenne K3500 one year ago. In March the Borg Warner 4401 T case needed rebuilt. It would not stay in gear. Could drive in 4L to get home 20k. The culprit was a 'yolk shaped' piece that had been worn down causing the gears to disengage.

About 3000k later and the thing goes out again. This time it comes out while coasting down hill and you could hear highspeed whirring as mesh gears grind.
I was able to drive uphill though as we climbed and coasted 20k back to a small town, dropped off at shop, hitched home and got BCAA card. Towed truck to home town. Replaced $80 dollar yolk piece part again. Replaced front Ujoint.

Drove another 3000k with huge load. Loud rumbling between 80-100kph.
In last 5k to my doorstep, started whining from directly under the gear shift.
Scared to drive, got home called tow truck again for the shop. Replace rear Ujoint. Truck did not rumble any more. Whining was still there for maybe a 20k then disappeared. Running great.

Drove 1000k to pick up huge custom camper for flat deck. Driving home in dark, cruising smooth then nothing. No connecting to power in 4th. Coast to stop. Put in 4L then back up, pop back into 2H and carry on, pops out in 3rd. Repeat. Wont stay in 2nd. On side of Trans Canada, hazards seem to have blow fuse. Sketchy, no cell service, pregnant wife. Bull****.

I was really annoyed at this point. Had to crawl in 2nd to a B and B to get phone connection to tow truck again. The girl on the phone recognized my voice from my last call.

The truck is in a random town, I am home 500k away. The mechanic said he had similar problem with Borg Warner last month. Yolk piece won't engage, rebuild, break. He thinks it might be because the case fluid fill line is wrong. Needs more fluid? Could it be that simple?

I am tired of breaking down... any ideas? I would just sell it but I need it to make one last trip of 1300k to a town we are moving to. Gonna be huge load.
