Window regulator

Quick question...RF door glass will not move. Motor works. Removal of the door panel reveals a rusted, broken cable. I can't see if the spool on which the cable winds and is driven by the motor is part of the motor ass'y or the regulator ass'y. So, question is, do I need the motor or regulator?
