As I was greasing the joints in my front end of my '03 2500HD I noticed that all but 2 of the boots have failed. The truck has 55,000 miles, and I grease the front end every 3000 miles. I'm a little embarrassed to ask, could it be the grease I'm using (no, I can't remember what type I put in my grease gun last)? Surely it can't be the age of the parts.

The new rubber they are using is junk, but also the high angle flexing can build pressure inside when they are full of grease and cause them to split. Asking me how I know.
