Timing Wrench

Hey all

If you plan on timing your rig anytime soon this may help. This little wrench is the best thing I have found for the job yet. I had some real trouble with the lower passenger nut last time, so I got this and both the bottom bolts were taken care of in about 30 seconds. I got mine at Lowes for about $40. It is a Gear Wrench S-Shape reversing ratchet head. The set comes with one 15mm/17mm and one 13mm/14mm. All I cared about was the 15 of course. It worked great. Take care all.

I got mine for that price too! Major Score. Until I read the last post, I thought I had somehow gotten away with something, like a bad bar code. Oh well.... $21.00 what a deal.

Interestingly, Amazon has a couple sets for $10 (+ $7 for shipping since it isn't through Amazon) but doesn't have the sizes listed. Here is 87102 (http://www.amazon.com/GearWrench-Pattern-Wrench-Set-2-Pc/dp/B001EA170C/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=automotive&qid=1230640159&sr=1-3) and 87302 (http://www.amazon.com/GearWrench-Pattern-Wrench-Set-Metric/dp/B001EA410K/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=automotive&qid=1230640159&sr=1-2) - neither one shows up in the GearWrench catalog (http://www.gearwrench.com/pdf/HTCatalog.pdf). Can't quite see, but the picture looks like it says #87102 in the upper right corner?

Even more confusing, going to the Northern website sizes still aren't listed, but the photos for the 87102 (http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_6970_200365983_200365983) shows one of the wrench with 19/22mm on it and one of the package showing 1/2 & 9/16 and 5/8 & 11/16 listed on it. The 87302 (http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_6970_200365982_200365982) shows the same pictures. Further, the numbers in the title and in the "add to cart" frame are switched 87102 in the title and 87302 in the frame on the one page and 87302 in the title and 87102 in the frame on the other.

I'm guessing these sets were discontinued and they're clearing them out. They want $38 for just the 15/17mm (http://www.amazon.com/Gear-Wrench-85232-Reversible-15m-Meter/dp/B000HBC852/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&s=hi&qid=1230641212&sr=1-15) one, so even with the crazy shipping the set is a good deal if you had any idea of what you were getting.

Think I'll swing past the local Lowes to see if they have any left in stock.
