Hi all, I'm looking at possibly trading in my 02 8.1L for a new Duramax. There seems to be some really good deals out there on new "leftover" 08's. My question is as follows: Are there any noteworthy differences or pros/cons of the 08 vs. the 09 model year duramax/allison combo in a 2500HD? Any rumors on any changes for the 10's yet? Thanks, George

A back up camera is an option for "09's" and some different color options.

2010 will bring stricter emmision standards once again for the diesels (mandated by the gov't). :(

OK, thanks.

So I presume that the 08 and 09 D/A engine/drivetrain is the same from the standpoint of emissions, computer controls, fuel economy, etc.

They are virtually identical. Differences are too small to notice.
