In a past article you mentioned you switched from a 225 tire to the 235 and said you had to get use to the taller profile when handling a load.

Was the truck less stable? bouncy?

I need new tires and wondering if I should go to the 235 from the current 245. I definetly do not want to switch if handling is worse

let me know thanks.

The heigth profile of a tire is a function of both its section width (the 235, 245, 255, etc. portion of the designator), and its aspect ratio (the 65,70,75,85, etc portion of the designator). A 235 mm wide tire, with the same aspect ratio, will have a shorter profile than a 245 mm wide tire.

Using your stock tires as a reference (245/65 R16), a 235 section width tire will have to have an aspect ratio of 70 or higher for it to have a taller profile)

Just wanted to clarify the sizing of passenger car and light truck tires smile.gif
