I have an LLY with ZF 6-speed.

The clutch safety switch failed. SO I tried to start the engine while being towed. It would fire once every 5 seconds, but would not come close to starting.

After the safety switch was replaced, for purposes of experimentation, I again tried to start by towing. It would not start.

Is there some logic in the fuel controller that inhibits towed starts?

Is there a way to bypass something so that it can be started with a tow?

I have an LB7 and I just had the safety start switch go last fall. I was able to start it twice by rolling it down the road. Once to get home when it failed and the 2nd time to get it in to town to get it fixed. Both times I just had some help to push it.
All I did was turn the ignition to the run position and then put it in 3rd gear and let out the clutch. Unless they have changed something that should have worked for you too.

Are you sure it's not some sort of theft deterent?

Crafty,

That did not work for me.

For fun, I also tried to tow-start after the clutch switch was replaced. It still would not start.
