I had to have my CENTER BEARING changed on my 2006 CREW CAB 3500 LONG BED the other day and had it done at a local shop. After I got it back I looked under at it and it looks like they put the thing back together wrong. What I mean is it looks like the HOLDER FOR THE BEARING the RUBBER that always falls apart was put on after the bearing was pressed on the shaft. So I was wondering if anyone with a 2 piece driveshaft on a 2006 can tell me how it should be.
Is the holder for the bearing on the driveshaft first then the bearing pressed onto the shaft and into the rubber mount or is the bearing pressed on first and the rubber mount placed over the bearing? If the bearing is pressed on first how far is it pressed on if that is the right way or if the mount is on first how far from the rubber mount to the driveshaft is it held back. A picture would be great and if it is wrong I need to take it back since I have now a noise and shake I never had before at 60mph. Thanks Guys
Tony
