I have a few electrical problems with my latest toy--1996 c1500 6.5L p/u.
1--two of the doors in the heater assembly are flapping; dependent on how the inside /outside air push button is set. should explain-pushed in one flap to stop it push button that one quits then a few minutes later the other flaps--push again to stop it and around it goes again.
2--the data link for obd system appears to be dead. tried a number of code readers form different sources. Mac tools even lent me their top line reader for the day(very nice of them--$5,000cdn-i want)
3--check engine lite comes on most of the time--if it is colder than 0celius the lite stays off for a long time before it comes on. This is a real hair puller. What i need is a complete wiring diagram for the truck in order to remove the gremlins.
PS--if this the wrong forum please move to the correct one.

When checking the web site for the truck in question--there is a very strong possibility that the wiring diagrams will not be included because of the fact that the pages are a fold out type and helminc do not reproduce them. Thank for the trouble

Hmm... I got a full set of manuals from them for my 95 Suburban and my 99 Tahoe from them. Electrical diagrams included. That's weird.

You could try to get a used manual from one of these sources:

Books4Cars (http://www.booksforcars.com/)
The Motor Book Store (http://www.themotorbookstore.com/)
Auto Repair Manuals (http://www.autorepairmanuals.biz/)
12 Volt Resource (http://www.12voltresource.com/)

I have used Books4Cars, but not the others. You could also check Amazon.

I don't know why the Helm manual wouldn't have a diagram. They all do, and the #1 reason folks go after the manuals in the first place. Try www.alldatadiy.com. I have several subscriptions for various years, but unfortunately, not 1996. Can't verify it for your year, but I'd bet the diagram is included. All of mine do, before and after 96. I'd also bet the Helms manual has a diagram if it's the complete service manual, whether it says it does or not. The owner's manuals don't include diagrams (Helms sells those, too).

If the scanners don't work when you plug them in, use a DC adapter to power the scanner (every scanner I know of, even the cheapies, have a DC port for external power). Sometimes, the 12V lead goes AWOL in the link. You can use either an AC/DC transformer, or a cigar lighter adapter (Radio Shack has both).

And yeah, wrong forum. But, no problem, I'll move it to the Chassis and Drivetrain forum.

Tank you one and all. The 4 that HH sujected to try do not have the diagrams that i need. 12volt only cover things that are important to stereo and alarms.
Alldata has what i need but as with a lot of internet companies they only accept major credit cards or paypal Both of which i do not believe in or use. So it is off to the local dealer and see if they can order one for me direct from GM

There is a factory wiring diagram specific manual available too. I have one for my 1993. I forgot to mention that above.
