Well... I'm shopping around for a Suburban.

I may have a hole in my head considering what I just went through with the last Suburban.

Seems there was a year when GM improved the crank and block to minimize breaking/ cracking?

Would anyone know what year(s) have the most reliable engine block/ crank?

Thanks!

From all I've read the 599 block is the one least prone to cracking. It was available in 1992 - 93. You should also be able to buy a new AMG block if money is no object. If memory serves RJ got his thru KD.

Wow...

So the newer engines are not necessarily better?

You'd think that they would be working the bugs out as they go!

Thanks for the input!
