Hey all,

This is my first post here, this is the question that prompted me to register for the forum in the first place.

I spent some time searching for an answer but didn't find any clear ones.

I just picked up a '98 1/2 ton Z71 6.5 TD for a daily driver. Hopefully it should be cheaper to run than the 5.7 I am replacing.

Anyhoo, the tdc offset is currently at -.2 degrees. Now I've always been taught to set them as close to -1.94 or -2.18ish on the obd2 models. Will I be sacrificing mileage or power or both by turning up the offset or is it better where it is.

The truck seems to run fine, starts well, no codes, etc. The lift pump makes 6 psi at idle, haven't checked it under load yet though. I basicly have no problems with it at this point, just looking to improve on what I have.

Can anyone offer any advice either way?

Thanks

Tony
