View Full Version : Alternator bracket

Last night the alternator snapped off the engine. The little brace broke in half and that allowed the alternator ear to snap off. This occurred two years ago also. In researching past threads there was mention of a second back brace for the alternators but my local dealer does not show one. Can someone please verify for me if the 94 F engine had one or two braces besides the long bolt at the bottom on the alternator. Thanks.

It has two. Mine broke off also. When it did it broke the boss of the alt and one of the two braces.

Do you have a part number or photo of this second brace, my dealer says there isn't one?

I just ran outside and got these pic's for you. Sorry for the delay. You can see the smaller bracket on the alt is the one that broke. I just welded it back. The bigger backet has been powder coated, has not even been on the engine yet.

Whats the deal!! with the pictures I post? Can one of the mods tell me if I am doing something wrong. It would be nice if these could come up as thumb nail pic's. Everytime I post a picture it gives me this type of link instead of the picture.
