Looks nice, 1996, 66K miles, in Dallas TX:

I've decided I want a gasser 2 door Tahoe to replace my Blazer 6.5TD (252K miles).

Thought someone here might be interested... note, I have no connection to the buyer, I just ran across it.

That Tahoe was listed on AutoTrader.com for a while. Seller was asking $17,000 or so for it there. Nice truck.

My girlfriend has a '97 2 Door Tahoe Sport (Sport trim only available with 5.7L). Just started a new job 2 weeks ago and is complaining about the 15 mpg she gets on her commute, which is 35 miles each way. Her best tank ever was almost 16 mpg average on a long road trip. My '97 K2500 with the 5.7L didn't do any better. I like the 20-21 mpg highway average I get with my '99 K2500 diesel.

High retail is about 12k, that's why it's still for sale and has no bids on ebay. Nice truck though.

Hey, 93_Burrito, do you know what axle ration your girlfriend's gas 2-door Tahoe has? The RPO codes for this detail start with "G", on the sticker in the glovebox.

Reason I'm asking, is I'm looking for a 2-door gas Tahoe, preferably with 3.42 gears, with lower mileage. The ones I've seen with lower mileage have been listed at $14k-$15k, and they sell quickly! So, the price for that diesel Tahoe may not be so out of line, except of course if you don't do major repairs on them yourself & you are looking at over $2000 for a new IP somewhere down the line, plus injectors after 100k miles or so, etc. Which is why I'm looking for a gas Tahoe to replace my 94 Blazer 6.5TD (252k miles now).

Her Tahoe has 3.73 gears, open rear diff (no G80 RPO), and 265/75/16 tires (came from factory with this size tire).

You can say you don't want to think about $2000 for an IP with the diesel, but I can say the same thing about the 4L60e ticking-timebomb, er transmission, that sits behind her 350.

I wanted her to get a diesel because they come with a 4L80e transmission behind it.

Not to mention the beautiful "Diesel" sound....can only get that in a diesel
