:)Hi All,

I'm a new member and am part of an engineering team that's mounting a generator on the front of the 6.5LTD in the M1151A1 so that this MV can drive around w/ kwatts of available power.

I'm trying to get info about the PCM. Does this engine use an Caterpillar ADEM III? Is there a way to communicate w/ PCM to provide a torque command so that when I'm cranking kilowatts I can increase the idle speed to match my load? Want to prevent stalling.

Regards,

Greg

Welcome aboard!

The EFI 6.5L's have an electronic throttle control (drive-by-wire, no mechanical connection), and the PCM's have PTO capability. The PTO throttle control is governor (RPM) regulated, so yes, it can be load-responsive. The Cat-ADEM III may be able to read PCM parameters, but you will need a Tech II to calibrate the PCM to enable and adjust the PTO throttle control.
