Was going down a long grade the other day with the trailer in tow. The tranny downshifted twice and the rpm's hit 3700. Is this normal? Should I be worried?

Normal. That's how grade braking works, and the RPM's could go even higher.

I think up to 4000-4500 rpm is ok, you need to check for sure.

I have about 70K towing mileage on mine in the hills Of the Rockies & British Columbia & have seen 4000 to 4500 RPM's many times. No problem.
