View Full Version : Do you know your fuel rate?

I am trying to do some engineering calculations on what different modifications will do for mileage improvements on my '99 K3500. I need to know what horse power it takes to just turn the engine over alone at say 2100 rpm. Someone may have a good idea. Otherwise I can make some estimates if anyone has monitored their fuel rate while setting in neutral and running at higher than idle rpm. If you know the fuel rate and the approximate rpm please let me know. I know my fuel rate at idle is 13 mm^3/stroke. I suspect at 2100 rpm the fuel rate is about 15. At 63mm^3/stroke for 195 HP that gives a lot of HP just to turn over the engine.
