I just had a nice city drive... I made a left turn out of Costco and heard a strange noise under the hood (driver side) like something shifted or let go. I looked in the mirror but didn't see anything bouncing across the road... but then... I saw the battery light come on even though the gauge was still showing 14... then I lost power brakes... I lost power steering... then the truck started running at about 250 degrees... then I noticed if I revved the motor, the speedo would climb to about 10 mph, but the tach quit working!!! WTF?!
How could all of this go wrong in 1 mile!? Could the Hydroboost do all this?
I bought the truck a little over a month ago. It was wrecked in '06 and was parked until this year. The owner started it every couple of weeks but it didn't drive. They fixed the body panels and replaced the radiator. But I am finding problem after problem. I had 1 tire lose it's tread, bending up a bunch of sheet metal and had to replace 2 other tires as well - no biggie, I wanted to upgrade to bigger tires anyway. In the wreck, it seems the sector shaft in the steering box twisted and it can't be aligned without replacing a bunch of parts and the box... that's fine because I have a Dana 60 I was going to swap in anyway - may as well drop in a new steering box too. But the cooling system seems to keep pressurizing - I believe I know the fix needed for this ($400) - but today was different, the truck never cooled back down like it has in the past.
:eek::confused::mad::(... in that order... please help make me :D
