My mom and dad were depression era kids. Therefore, anything you ever bought, you used and kept for eternity. Along with this trait is a strange obsession when anything that has been around for forty years or more gets lost, broken or stolen. You can't replace it with the newfangled plastic stuff - its gotta be an original replacement.

My 15 year old son, and his 16 year old 1st cousin ran over Granny's garden cart with the pickup, and I won't hear the end of it, until I locate another one. Ours was red, I am sure a blue or green one would be fine. It can be rusty, but it needs to be in serviceable condition - because my 78 year old mom has at least 20 more years of gardening left in her.
HELP!!! (And yes, I am dead-dog serious about this, my brother just called me and told me we have to find one or he's gonna go crazy hearing about it.)

Our neighbors when I was a kid had one of those... Haven't seen one in decades.

Not sure if this helps or not, but look what I found on craigslist this morning:

Don't think it is exactly the same, but pretty darn close.

Let's see... Do we have enough people from Harrisburg, PA to Minneapolis, MN to do a bucket brigade to transport it? :D
Unfortunately, my next trip is in the wrong direction - up to Syracuse and then Oswego, NY.

You could have a TDP local member snag it for you. Then, pick it up as soon as you get a transport in/through the area. Or, the bucket brigade would get it done.
Something similar in Chicago.

Thanks for the links...I am working the antique dealers in my area, but either of these would be a suitable replacement...

I was in an ACE Hardware store yesterday. They have them brand new. Check it out.

Looked at the Ace Hardware website, found this plastic version of the 'wedge' shaped cart.
http://www.acehardware.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2295793&kw=garden+cart&origkw=garden+cart&searchId=44310514834
Wondering if you saw a metal one, or were referring to the plastic one...?
Thanks for your help!
Here are some metal ones if you are still looking.
Green one (http://memphis.craigslist.org/grd/1424001497.html)
black one (http://grandrapids.craigslist.org/grd/1422629661.html)
Hope these are helpful.
