Hi Folks
I'm new to Diesel pickups and need an answer some one may be able to provide.

I just bought a 2004 Chevy Duramax HD 2500 that has only 19000 miles on it. I have no contact with the previous owner, but the truck runs really nice.

What I would like to know is this: from the VIN # 1GCHC23264F192921 can I learn what engine is in there. an LV7 or an LLY and any other info that may be available.

You have an LLY. The 8th digit of your VIN is a 2. An LB7 would be a 1.
