I just wanted to throw this out. I've got a car trailer that is really low. Good and bad. I nd to raise it up. 2 axles with springs has new tires. The tires is why I don't want to just put a taller tire on it. How would be the best way to raise the trailer? Any opinion would be helpful.
Thanks........

:)If your spring perches are under the axle you can put them on top. Could even add some blocks if needed. Or longer shackles, or mount the shackle perches on some rectangular tubing as a spacer. Don't forget to align everything when done.

There is some good info over at rv.net forum about axles and mounting/aligning them.

On my previous trailer, which had rubber torsion axles, I just welded in some 3X2 heavy wall tubing, and used 3" longer bolts to re-mount. Steel springs, of course are different, and the previous post is a good bet, if your spring blocks are currenly underslung. If not, I see no reason why you couldn't use heavy wall tubing under the frame, like I did on the torsion rig. BTW, the allignment didn't change, using the tubing, and the handling remained just as good, if not better. Just had to raise my adjustable ball mount the same 3".

I thought about just putting the springs over instead of under. I see you said something about shackles, blocks for the shackles. Thank all of you all for the info. I nd to just look and see what parts I have to make this happen.
