Shell's building a new gas station right on my way to work, sandwiched between the Menards and super Walmart. They've got a spot for a diesel price on the new sign. This will be my new station - it can't get any more convenient than this.

The question I've got is this: Does anybody know how they ensure that all the tanks, lines, pumps, etc are squeeky clean? Should I wait a while for them to get all the built-in contamination out before trusting my injectors to their fuel?

I'd wait a week, but that's just me. It's probably fine the first time. Once they post the price, the question may be moot, anyway.

It doesn't matter much where you buy your fuel, there is always a chance you can get a bad load. A high volume fuel stop only ensures that the fuel in the storage tanks is turned over frequently. A high volume station can get a bad load just as easy as any.
