In what probably took all of 5 minutes the )(&*%^ of the earth crawled under my K5 6.2 & STOLE my rear drive shaft. I won't get into the drama or how I feel or the fact that the Deputy after he made the police report said- "let me know if I find out anything"? Am I know deputized to load my shot gun & go look through out the neighborhood & fill someone full of buckshot?

Anyway the question is - In finding a replacement drive Shaft

She's a 82 6.2 700r4 6 lug bolt pattern wheel & 10 bolt rear -
What input shafts will interchange with the 700r4?
Will a different motor K5 with a 700R4 work? IE 350 / 454?
Instead of the standard bolts with 6 point heads what should I use to bolt one back on?Feeling kinda torqued right now-

But happy New Years anyway to all the Good Americans on the Diesel Page!

Sorry for your loss, odd steal.

Yeah, a driveshaft from any K5 should fix you right on up. Just make sure someone didn't retrofit a TH400 or something in there. As long as it's still got the TH700 in the truck, it should work just fine. You should be able to source a driveshaft from a blazer ranging 1982 to 1991, or Jimmy (GMC).

The engine configuration won't have an impact on the driveshaft for this application, so gassers (only 305 and 350's were used in K5's).

Odd thing to steal.

If your third question about hardware is to prevent subsequent theft, just red LocTite the bolts.
