Dyno session with the 1982 C10 SWB truck that I have routinely drag raced for almost three years now with the same 6.5TD engine.

The image is kinda big, it's posted on my website (not really much a site, but host).

It's not very consistent on what it puts down each pull :rolleyes:

Black = Turbo Boost
Red = Horse Power
Blue = Torque

I'm not sure if the dyno run is an accurate representation of how it really performs, it's been tuned for the type of runs it makes. The turbo I'm running on it is not the fastest spooling in the world, but it does better on the top end (carries horse power through 3800).

This test was from 2100 to 3800 RPM, because that was the RPM point I could keep the trans in Drive (1:1) without danger of downshift at WOT.

This is a NO DRUGS run (no nitrous, WMI, propane, fuel additives). Just a turbo and fuel (yeah, a loaded "just").

Great numbers! I know of just one other 6.5 that ran to over 300 at the rear wheels, and it was using nitrous, porpane and water injection (everything but the kitchen sink).....

What sort of fuel injection pump are you using?

Good work!

MP, i think you are missing one truck there. heath is putting down around 600 at the wheels with no propane or nitrous. :D

His truck was the one I was referring to..... Unless you're making a funny... I saw his truck on the dyno a couple of years ago here in MT. It had all of the switches on.... Nitrous, propane, water, etc. plus his big chip.

No 6.2/6.5 DB2, DB4 or DS4 that I know of is capable of 600 rwhp regardless of how the 6.5 is equipped otherwise.... The LB7 Duramax is tuned for 300 fwhp with 91mm3 of fuel. The highest rated marine DB2/DB4 or DS4 can produce upper 80's at 2000-rpm, but not not anywhere near that at 2800+rpm.

I dunno....

i dunno :D i have talked with bill on the phone a few times. he said his salt flat runs were done with only water injection added for cooling. beyond that, he is running his twin garrets and he says he is putting down 600, no extra juice. when he is hitting 160 mph, winding over 5500, and has the ability to destroy an 05 GT, i tend to believe him.

For us is does not matter what others did, done or will do..... :rolleyes:

Thank you John for present proof it is possible, and 3 years is longer than we hope to get with ours.....:D

We say nay to the unbelievers:):)

I wish I had some more recent videos to put up on youtube, as the ones I have are almost 2 years old. It's a little different now.

Thanks for the compliments! Yeah, it's one that could. I hope to be building another much faster sleeper soon.
