Looking for a late model dirt bike in good condition for my son. Prefer name brands over knock-offs, but could be convinced to own about anything.

There are a few moto tracks in our area, plan is to get him involved and see where the sport may take him.

Budget is $2-3K, max. Shipping is cheap - I got peoples. ;)

Don't know about your area, but around here there are dozens on Craig's List.

If God meant for dirt bikes to be 4-strokes he... (you fill in the blanks...)

...would have made people less concerned about noise?

Hey Mark! I've got an '05 Yamaha YZ250F for sale. Its only got about 10 hours of riding on it. I bought it from a friend (who was the original owner) hoping to use it for trail riding, but I think I'd be better off with an ATV so I can also use it during hunting season. He told me he paid around $8000 for it new, but just never had time to ride it.
It's in very good shape and runs like nobodys business!
After talking with some local dirt bikers, they tell me it's worth around $3500. I'd like to get close to that, if at all possible.
Let me know what you think. I may be able to email pics, if you'd like. My email address is 81wideglide@live.com, if you're interested.

Ron

OMG, 4-stroke AND water cooled? what's the world coming to? Next people will be touting Escalades for rock crawling!

What you need is a nice 1967 Bultaco Matador...
With all the electrics stripped off.

...or a Montessa like Gary Wells used to jump cars with? Real men don't need these fancy suspensions!
