View Full Version : Auto to Manual Conversion
I have an '84 Blazer with a 6.2L Diesel, 700r4, NP208 T-case. And I have an old Farm truck with a 6.2L Diesel, SM465, and NP208 T-Case. How hard would it be to drop the Manual in the Blazer and do the whole conversion? And what about the driveline lengths, will the original ones still work in the Blazer? The 700r4 is toast...
Thanks....
It's actually a very simple conversion, I did it about 10 years ago and probably posted a write-up on here. I'm pretty sure the driveshafts are the same length between autos & manuals in order to eliminate the need to build multiple shafts for the same vehicle type (it has been 10 years) so you should be able to use the ones already on the Blazer.
My K10 had the locations for the clutch master cylinder and shifter boot stamped so it was just a matter of cutting on the lines. The worst part of it all was installing the clutch/brake pedal bracket from the donor truck.
