I am considering a new 5ver. If the GVW of the 5ver is 11660# and hitch weight is 1500#, will the hitch weight drop if I tow the 5ver around 9600#. I am ok, but close at 1500#.

It depends on how it's loaded. Heavy on the rear (trailer) is lighter on the pin. If it's a toy hauler, it will typically be MUCH heavier on the pin with less loading (toys go behind the trailer axle, which lightens the pin).

You could do the math and get it close, but the only way to know is to get across the scales and weigh the axles. In any case, you need to start at the scale. DO NOT rely on manufacturer's declarations for weight capacities, or lading. I have yet to see one within 10% of actual.
