Crazy fast!

I think the next hurdle for your sport to gain the recognition it deserves is to deal with the clouds of black smoke.

Unhealthy for environment and spectators;
Ruins visibility of the race, ETs, etc.
Q: Can it be done, without all the unburned fuel?

Here is my 2 cents worth on the smoke thing.

Ever go to the truck Pulls ?? Loads of diesel smoke.

Performance diesels without smoke is like the Grand canyon without a hole in the ground.

Clean exhaust stacks are great for the big rigs plying the highways and byways delivering goods.

Keep up the big smoke, its the American way to have fun. :D

(Clarification: Personally, I like the smoke and noise of tractor pulls or diesel drags...)

My observation has more to do with sponsorship and widespread adoption of diesel drags, outside the diesel community...which raises the question...

Can it be done without all the smoke? (Not a request/objection, rather a curious question of mechanical possibilities...i.e what if you injected something into the exhaust and/or ignited it, expressly to clean up the smoke for improved audience visibility???)

Marketing $$$ are all about the number of audience exposures/impressions. NASCAR delivers, due to the round-and-round nature of the race. How does diesel drag deliver, in comparison?
