I have everything installed and set up, but when I went to plug the audio cables into the back of my radio, I found that there are no input jacks. Is there an after market part that I need to get?

There should be a harness with connectors normally used for the detached cassette option (about 18" long). It also has a switching circuit, which automatically switches the audio to that input (like when a cassette tape is inserted). Look for an additional harness taped back to the main harness, if you don't have the cassette option (if you have cassette, the only other line-in is in use by the cassette).

Or, get an Onstar adapter, which should have the leads you need. If you already have (the obsolete 2001) Onstar, it can be tapped for what you need (and does a better job of integration, and ready made adapters are available).

There is a harness that came with the kit, and it has a red, orange, green, black, purple, yellow, etc. They are all connected to ONE plastic adapter to plug in somewhere, however the instructions say to cut all of the wires near the plastic adapter, BUT it looks like it I could just plug it in and go.

I found a pdf file about the Onstar adapter. Is this what I need to follow?

Interesting they provide a nice harness with a connector, then tell you to cut the wires.

Many of the hands-free kits plug into the Onstar module (not the radio). The module has the interface to the radio for all the functions of cell phone use. I'm not familiar with your kit, so probably not much help. The PDF you linked seems to be more like what I've seen. All were plug and play (no cut/splice with the OEM radio and Onstar). Perhaps the instructions you read were for without Onstar, or other than OEM radios. I don't know.

The nicest kits I've seen are Bluetooth interface kits, and plug into, or replace, the Onstar module. They cost between $150-300, depending on the Onstar series and additional features or adapters needed. You might try a search of a thread 6 months to a year ago. There was some good info and a link to a supplier, in this forum, IIRC.

Is the onstar module underneath the radio or is it somewhere else? I might look into that.

Under the dash, in front of the glove box.
