Its that time of year when every air cleaner in my 'family fleet' gets changed, to make sure the salt-encrusted one that lived through winter duty is in the trash where it belongs.

These filters can appear 'clean', but have severe restrictions after sucking up brine spray, which later drys in the filter element.

Spend a few bucks this week, save a bunch of fuel over the next few months...its new air filter time, if you live in salty road country...!!!

What if the only thing you can find is a cheap Chinese knockoff?

I am amazed at how much silt drops out of a well used LBZ style filter when dropped face down. I just did one for a guy and I got 4 drops (maybe more) where the silt settled out so heavy that it covered the circular area so completely that you could not see the concrete.

I gently knock the stuff out of my filter once or twice between filter replacements. It is amazing how much stuff accumulates in them, lots of fine road sand up here in salt/sand country...
