Title says it all...looking for one of the 80's Isuzu S10 diesels, or a more recent conversion. Not interested in 'project' trucks, greasers, or unreliable experimentals.
Here is the one that I just missed - and would love to duplicate!

Any help appreciated - my son is turning 16 and I'd like to introduce him to a small diesel passenger truck that gets great mileage!

Wow that S-10 is a nice little gem for sure! And a with a 5-speed stick, too.

Great car -but wouldn't play well in our town for a 16 year old to drive...
Does it have to be a truck?
They made jeep liberty's with a diesel for a little while.

Mark,
I posted the red creampuff one on TDP a few months ago just for the fun of it. Looked to be a really nice one and I wondered what it would finally go for. Took him a while to get what he wanted.
Wished that brown '82 were closer to me. I've been looking for something along those lines but they always seem to look like they have close to 30 years of age and abuse on them! I ran across one very similar in mileage and looks about 4 months ago but when I called the seller, he said he already had 2 other buyers standing there about to go to war over who was going to get it.
What you want is out there somewhere, you just have to be patient. What I'm really looking for is a nice one (like the brown one) with a blown engine for cheap. I've got 2 rebuilt engines sitting on the garage floor just waiting for a home.
We'll keep our eyes out for what you're looking for. What about the next gen body style if he doesn't like the square look?

Jeep Liberty is a good idea, although I never understood why they get such 'average' mileage??? I don't think he's gonna be excited much with any older 80s/90s fullsize pickup. An OLD 70s Ford F-150 would be cool - we had a '79 back on the farm that I still think was a sharp looking truck.
