Hi all. I just bought a 94 2500 6.5. We were doing routine PM as this truck has sat for a while. Did engine oil and filter, fuel filter, trans fluid and filter. Put it all back together and took it for a drive. Went about 10 blocks, put in some diesel came back. The whole time she drove great.

We got it back in my mechanics lot and decided to test the 4wd. Went into 4 hi (don't remember if light came on) but we could tell she was pulling good. We then attempted to put into 4L. This is where things started going down hill. It didn't seem to want to go into 4L. We tried a few things then we both remembered that you had to be in neutral to through the lever up. She went into 4L. However now we had very little forward drivetrain power. The engine would rev fine, but very slight (like slipping) but great Reverse drivetrain power.

We were stumped. We did some checking, and though maybe it was something todo with the process of going into 4L and coming out. So today, he tried, Trans N, go into 4L, trans D, no drive train. Then stopped, trans N, goto 2WD, trans D, no drive train. But again we can go into reverse.

Any thoughts? It seems as maybe an issue with the ECM talking to the trans? Is it the front actuator? Is the trans in bad shape?

Thanks for any advice.
Matt
