I used JohnC's method to flush my tranny fluid and it worked beautifully. On link below:

Thanks for that post it made the job much cleaner and easier. I got the B&M shift kit ($32 model from Summit Racing) and the Hughes deep tranny pan for Christmas and I installed everything and did the fluid change all at the same time. My shifts are 100% better. Getting ready for river season in the spring.

Doing these upgrades is so much easier with the membership to TDP. This is good stuff!

You should pay close attention to your vent on the tranny, so water does not enter through it.

I had overlooked it when in deep water and damage to tranny was the result.

Now, I have the vent inside the cab, the fitting on the tranny is glued in place.
