TRANSFER CASE RUB? Did they fix it in the newer trucks ?

I thought I read somewhere that GM had solved the pump rub problem by upgrading the clip and spacer on the newer transfer cases. Thereby eliminating the dreaded pump rub.
Is this true ? And if so, what model year did they solve it ? Thanks.

I wouldn't trust it. I did the brother in law's 99 1500. It had the OE clip still intact and was worn very close to through the case. I also haven't seen this revised clip factory installed.

Thanks John, I only have 19,800 miles on our 07 classic. I would really hate to have to pull the T-case out and apart to see if they have changed the clip and spacer design on ours.
If anyone takes a a late model case apart, let me know what you find.
Of course I guess there's no guarante that if there was a change, if it was done in the middle of a model production year and would be based on serial # or date of manufacture.
