I'm ready to order the parts to rehab my fuel filtration and water separation system on my 6.2 Suburban. I'll be replacing both the pre-filter and secondary filters with Stanadyne FM100 units. Since I'm going to replace the two fuel filters, does anyone have an idea of what size tubing I should run from the mechanical fuel pump down on the block to the pre-filter, and from the pre-filter to the secondary filter, and from the secondary filter to the injector pump?

Factors to consider about fuel tubing diameters:

Eventually I'm going to work on the set screw in the pump to up the pressure, and I'll also be doing some manifold (intake and exhaust) and exhaust tubing work as well (3" dual exhaust--ideally with a cross pipe--and Flowmaster muffs). I won't be adding a turbo until later, after I build another engine as a replacement.

Thanks!

3/8" will flow more than enough fuel to keep the little beast happy.

Use steel tubing as copper will fatigue over time and vibration and likely crack.

You could use stainless braided hose too if you want to be fancy.
