Foam pieces blowing out of cabin vents?

Anybody experience this yet? I'd like to have an educated guess on the likely source before I start tearing into the ventilation system. The foam pieces fall apart in my hands, so I'm thinking it's age related....

Have you changed your cabin air filter? Possibly the old one is breaking up ??

I took a look at the cabin filter. No foam on my filter to break down. It seems the pieces spit out as I change back and forth from the recirculation mode. Therefore, I'll start with the recirculation damper.

Could it be you have some "little friends" that have set up house keeping within your system?
