Locking Rear ? Type?

1996 K3500: What type of locking rear?

Is it the Mech Pin. into slot< Or are there
clutches?

Still have a low speed " cyclic Drag ".
Feels like truck is surging, But no indications of engine problem, all gages/sensors normal...

Had it on a lift and checked all, could not find anything. Could the anti slip rear be grabing,
going to pull cover, what should i look for, other than ring/pinion wear?

It is my understanding that the 14 bolt rear ends with limited slip have no clutch packs. I am not sure about the Danas, though.

I have 14 bolts, No clutches , than I do not need
special oil/additive ??????
