When I was preping my "new to me" 1984 class c G3500 motorhome in the spring for this year's camping season I ended up having to do some work to the battery area. I replace one of the starting batteries and did a lot of clean up on the wirring. One thing I noticed is that the house (3rd battery-deep cycle) is not on the vehicles charging circuit. The only way it gets charged is when it pluged in to shore power or by my solar panel.

I do run the fridge on 12v when I travel and I am worried that its not getting enough power while traveling. Sometimes I can go 6+ hours before plugging into shore power.

Do you think I can add this 3rd battery to the charging circuit and what would be the best way? I'm thinking just a disconnect or battery isolator...

The standard is an isolator (automatically connects to the charge circuit when engine is running). I'm surprised it doesn't have one already. Any good RV store should have one (Camping World, etc.).

Or, you can use a manual disconnect, with either a relay or a manual switch.
