Howdy, I have a couple of questions that some of you knowledgable folks could answer. I have a Chevy M1008 6.2l. I want to put an engine/ firewall mounted centrifuge on it. I was told that some older model trucks used to use these. Does anyone know what make/model trucks used these that I may be able to find one? I also had the thought to replace the th400 tranny with an OD tranny, 4L60 or a 4L80 and a transfer case. I do not want to use electronics though. Do the make these that are not electronically controlled? Is it worth the hassle? My other option would be a Gear Vendor OD unit. Thanks for any advice you have. Tom

My 82 Suburban which came with the first year production 6.2L did not come with an oil centrifuge. However, it was used in some industrial applications such as busses and semi trucks. You can buy them new but they're very expensive. You can also find them used from a big truck or bus but they are usually very large and finding space could be next to impossible. However, if you're interested I can dig up some information I have for building a small centrifuge.

Edahall: I would greatly appreciate any information that you might have on centrifuges. A guy I met that said he was a diesel mechanic told me that they came on older Fords(early Power strokes) I have not found any proof of that. Like you said, I have read that they were used on large engine applications. Thank you for your help. Tom
