I have it on my 2011 but have not had the chance to use it yet. My son said he thought it came on once when he was towing in some big hills in Ky this past weekend. Said it slowed it down in a hurry.

I took one for a test ride and when you turned it on while at highway speed it made a big diffrence not a noticable around town. But that was empty, towing or hauling a load is said to be even better (but that came from the salesman).Having a ride with engine brakes soon becomes something that becomes hard to do without.

I think it was the Diesel Power Magazine that did an extensive test of Ford/Dodge and Gm-Chevy 2011 trucks. They addressed just about everthing towing ect. GM beat the other two hand's down except for the Dodge and they said that it had the best grade braking out of the three.. I did hear that the grade brake feture on 2011 GM's is better than previous years, but tha t is only hearsay. I think our Classic 07's grade brake works super.
It shouldn't be long before somebody tows with a new one and give's us the real skinny!

My medium duty has the exhaust brake feature. It works in conjuction with the trans in that it will come down a gear at the same time the turbo vanes close up. As the speed decreases it will continue to shift down. When I am on the road with the toad in tow I am pretty close to GCW and the system works very well. It sure makes it easy on the brakes. I believe that the 2011s have the very same system as mine. It has been available on the medium dutys for some time now.
