lost the motor on my 01 duramax 2day. she made it 280k. was wondering what yaer motors will work as a drop in? or if anyone wants to buy the truck its 4 grand. 01 4x4 xcab built tranny w 15k on it, arp studs, and 4 new injectors with 500 miles on them. all new brake lines and frame undercoated.

01-04 with VIN #1 in the 8th position.

So what failed? Short bed I assume?

not sure but i think it was the oil pump. oil pressure went low then motor got noisy and seized. yup short bed

Perfect excuse to build an LB7 monster motor and bolt it up to that stout tranny...

wish i could but just dnt have the cash right now. just bought a new cargo trailer for work and that on top of the $2500 i put in the truck this summer. new headgaskets,arp's,waterpump,thermostats,glowplugs, gaskets,heads refinished and the list goes on. thinking about throwing a junkyard motor in it and slowly building my old 1 if its any good. when i take it apart i'll get some pics of the carnage.
