Hi

I am not an expert on who has the perfect engine for you but isnt peninsular engines well built..

They supply engines for boats, truck, RVs and more, think they have a performance engine...

I've had my Peninsular engine for almost 4 years and over 65K miles, pushing an average 15K lbs of motorhome. Fuel economy went up ~12% with this engine, and there have been zero problems.

You can order the configuration you want. Mine is listed in my signature.

I purchased a new AMG/GEP long block from WW Williams....reasonably priced compared to a proper rebuild.

rameye,

When I look up Williams, all I get is information about commercial trucks. Nothing about 6.5L engines. Do you have to contact them directly and ask, or is there another source of information?

Last Check

WW Williams
229-888-5877 or 9013

Randy Simmons was handling the AM/Gen sales

Quoted $5225 this Spring..I think add $1000 for the P400 super duper model.

Sale was smooth...no bull...send them money they send you engine!....no core.

Let us know how you do.

Have they started to offer an oil pan for the P400 for civilian use? That would go a long way toward putting one in my truck.

Opto, all I can say is that it is a brand new AM/GEN GEP motor..came with all tins/timing cover installed ready to drop in.

I swapped it, timed it. and have been a really happy camper for the past 5000 miles.

Shes just about broke in, as the mileage (MPG) is starting to come up.

This is for a part time ride that hauls me and my family up to my second home (very distant and rural). I wanted very high reliability...not stuck on the road 1 hr away from the nearest garage....even further if you want them to speak GM diesel!

I priced out a rebuild with a balanced rotating assembly, new pistons, cam lifters, heads etc, reusing the crank and block. Ended up being the same price as new, without the "will the block crack" and me lose all my money factor.

It was also a time factor....I didnt have to haul out...play the waiting game for machining and parts...and then re-install. I had a 30 day window to work in, and being able to swap in and out at my leisure during that window also played a big part.

Thats the story...do it right...do it once.

Thanks

It seems very nice.

I have been in contact with Randy, there are just some details that needs to be sorted first.
