Just wondering, does the 1008 use the same spiders in the rear propshaft as the 1009?

There are no spider gears in the propellar shafts only u-joints and they are different between trucks.

If you are talking about the differentials they are also two completely different differentials.

M1008 uses a 14bolt with Detroit Locker (1 ton)

M1009 uses a 10bolt with Gov-Loc (1/2 ton)

But both should be readily available from a parts house or junk yard. Look for K20-30s for a 14 bolt or a K5 Blazer/Jimmy or K10 Suburban for 10 bolt.
