I'm getting ready to swap the gears in my 10.5" 14 bolt from 4.56 all the way down to a 3.73. Big jump. Will I need a spacer to make up for the smaller gear thickness? What gear changes can I mke with the OEM 4.56 carrier? Last but not least you guys with 3.73's, how do they tow? Any problems or wish you went with a bigger gear? Thanks

Changed from 4.10 to 3.73 gears,
I run a 3000lb truck camper.....

Worse at 45-55 mph always shifting and TCC unlocks
Better at 60-65 mph, except when pulling
moderatly steep hill rpm drops off, down shifts and go's into 3rd - TCC unlock, Tran heats up....

GREAT Unloaded, 1-2 mpg better , May have gained
1/2- 1 mpg but I think that is due to Turbo master.

I think I probably should have left the 4.10's in as 90% of my driving is With a Load.

Have installed the MT twister TCC lock up switch.
Makes a big differance off interstate to keep locked up at 40mph and up. and Long Hill
climbs in 2nd...Without that feature, I would
have gone back to the 4.10
