put deposit on truck never owned diesel. 72,000 miles on truck how should I handle maintance

do a VIN check on the truck.

Change all the fluids. I would do all synthetic, but if $ are an issue, just change the fluids. Tranny, differentials, torque converter, engine oil.

Change the the filters. Fuel, tranny, engine.

Use a good fuel additive (winter/summer).
