I am very excited to announce another first release from www.pmdcable.com of what we are calling the "METRUM ROD FUEL SENDING UNIT" (MRFSU). It is a giant improvement over the factory fuel sending unit. We have been working on this for over a year and are ready for market now.
FYI: METRUM is the latin word for MEASSURE
The MRFSU has a 100% stainless steel housing, the electronics are completely sealed off from the fuel, it is basicaly a plug and play (Some minor modification needed on some fuel pick up's), plugs into factory harness. It installs inplace of the stock wire pass through in you original fuel pick up.
The original FSU is a know problem on our trucks and are prone to fail every couple years. The cost for an original style FSU ranges from $80 -$150.
If your gauge bounces, pegs way past full or just does not work anymore then the likely problem is the FSU.
Our new MRFSU is a much better alternative. Lifetime transferable warranty and we are offering it for a limited time for $109.99 + shipping via usps priority mail.

Thank you. Im expecting this to be a big seller just got to get the word out.

BTW, the MRFSU has only one moving part (the float) and it can't really wear out.

Aha!!! Yes, mine does that! Right now it's sporadic, so I'll wait until it really becomes a problem as it's not a vital system. Excellent piece of info to know the cause and that there's a solid fix available for it. Thanks!

Was wondering when someone would come up with something different than a variable resister on a swing arm. Would be nice to have something that at least approximates some accuracy.

Good point you bring up. Just to clairfy I am selling the stainless steel/float assy you see in the picture only. You modify your original FSU. I have a set of nice instructions with pictures I can email to interested members.
As far as you Caddy go's if its FSU is 12 3/4" it will work. I think I should be able to make them in shorter lengths also. I would need to know how long you need it. What year/type do you have? If I have time I will see if my local auto parts has one to look at.

Its a 1994 Cadillac Fleetwood (RWD). The fuel sender unit part numbers are:

AC Delco - FLS1021
Spectra - FG128C

If I was to guess, it's probably an 8 inch drop to where the pump runs out of fuel. Have been through two so far and have dropped the tank 4 times. Thinking seriously of installing quick disconnects and Zeus fastners to make the job easier. With all the fuel pump and sender problems you'd think GM would at least install access plates in the trunk :confused:.
