fuel filter micron rating

I installed one of the Racor 2 micron filters last summer. After a month of driving my 94 'burb quit running again. I spent the next month troubleshooting with the help of Bill Heath and the indications point to the fuel injection pump being d.o.a.. My question is a 2 micron fuel filter to restrictive of a filter element for the electronic pump. At the cost of even a used pump I don't want to waste another pump if it is a supply issue.

Check the fuel pressure at the pump inlet. As long as it does not go negative you are fine. Don't forget, a 2 micron filter will clog up more easily. Not a bad thing, but something you need to attend to when it happens.
