you could use the entire engine with these exceptions. you will need to use ALL of the accessories (the likes of ac, ps, vacuum pump, alt). You will need to use all the brackets for the accesories off the 98, so everything will bolt up. The other things to use off the 98 would be the waterpump (get a new one) The 97+ trucks all had a dual thermostat setup "97 cooling mods". You will want that on the 95 engine. With the 97 cooling mods is the waterpump, you will need a high output waterpump marked "HO" on the casting of the pump. Just get a new waterpump for a 98. Basically just use everything from the doner locked up engine to make sure it all works in the 98 truck. But the 95 longblock and injection pump will all work just fine in your 98. Another thing to consider is that your 98 is a 1500. So it is probably an "S" code 6.5 (or L56 engine). See what the 95 engine is, if its an "F" or non egr engine, it will work also, will just have to research how to disable EGR on a 98 computer to take advantage of the F code engine for more power
