You are awesome for running the reports for me on the 2007 GMC crew cab dually 4x4. Thanks so much. I know you must get absolutely inundated with VIN requests like mine, so the fact that you took the time and expended the effort to respond to my Newbie request (and in such a short time frame!!) is very much noted and appreciated.

QUESTON for any of you oh-so-wise-ones reading this forum post:

To me, the VIN check report seems fabulous and totally non-worrisome. However, I am VERY mechanically-challenged. So---do any of the entries in the VIN check report raise a warning flag for you?

It doesn't appear to have any flags according to the report. What is there is routine, for the most part (minor, and not unusual). You'll have to get hands on for more. Have a look and test drive. If it checks out, and hasn't been abused, it could be a good one.

It may also have some engine/powertrain warranty left, depending on current mileage. That's a good thing. When/if you purchase, have the dealer deduct any time and mileage accumulated on the truck during any warranty repair, and the time/mileage from the time it was acquired by the dealer, until the time of sale. None of this counts toward warranty time/mileage. This may also qualify it for an extended warranty. Verify everything, and get it in writing.

The warranty repairs read just like mine.

Transmission cooling lines are a recurring problem. Not a big deal as far as reliability, though.

My EGR valve went out too. Again, no serious ramifications.

Ditto the steering shaft...

Thanks for confirming my belief that VIN report showed only minor / standard type of warranty repairs. Next step is test drive and trip to mechanic to see if he finds anything I couldn't detect during test drive. Keep your fingers crossed; and again thank you so much for your input. I'll definitely check to see if any warranty is left after deducting downtime; but since the truck has 112k, I seriously doubt I'll have any warranty left. Have a blessed day.
