Rear View Mirror

Just replaced my rear view mirror beacuse the compass/temp LCD stopped working when I went to palm springs last summer. Apparently, it didnt like 121 degrees. Anyway, there is a small circuit board located in the housing at the base of the mirror where it mounts to the windshield. Does anyone know what this is? Been trying to google it for the last 10 minutes and can't find it. Thanks.

Surf around and read some of the intro paragraphs for the mirrors. THey reference electronic stuff. I realize this does not directly answer your inquiry but maybe you can find a clue somewhere.
