tranny question

Will a 4l80e from a 99 work in a 98? I believe that the electronics from different years can cause issues. Am I safe?

Bump - Anybody know the answer? I have an opportunity to buy this tranny for very cheap but I would like to know that it will work without mods.

Should be fine.

The real early 4L80 trannies had a different electrical plug but the 98/99 should be identical.

The 98 and 99 are both OBD2 systems so you should be all set.

Someone else will likely chime in on this.
